How to Arrange a Date

Your latest love-interest has agreed for a date. The onus is now on you to fix the venue and the time.  Here are some quick tips to ensure you get all the arrangements right:

Try to secure a date within a few days of her saying yes – If there is a wait of over a week it will only cause increased stress levels.

Pick an informal venue that is fun and relaxed – It should offer your first date some amount of flexibility and not induce anxiety. You need to focus on your match, not on what food to order or which cutlery to use.

Check that the location easy to reach – Your match should be able to reach the place conveniently by any of the common modes of transportation.

Fix a mutually convenient time – If it is a dinner date, you and your prospective match should have enough time to get ready and get to the venue without feeling rushed. Don’t be late, consider a lunch date too.

Don't ring your match constantly to check their whereabouts – it creates a panicky, obsessive impression.  Never stand up a date either. If you cannot make it, call ahead of time to reschedule.

Make an effort to dress well for the occasion though the date may be an informal one – Pay special attention to styling and hygiene issues.

Don’t make the mistake of drinking alcohol to steady yourself – If you get anxious, try some deep breathing or meditation techniques.

Don't attempt to impress your match with wealth – Picking the most expensive restaurant in town and flaunting all your credit cards can turn off a lot of women.

Get organized – Don’t forget your mobile phone or wallet.  Be certain about the directions to the venue of your date.

Ensure your apartment is neat and clean as you never what can happen – That being said, don’t expect sex on your first date, though it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.

You are dating to basically meet a nice match.  It should not be a stress-inducing experience, so remember to be optimistic and enjoy yourself.
