How to Intrigue a Man on Your First Date

Have you just spent an hour on your hair and nails just before a date? Chances are that the great guy you are dating will barely notice these. How do you pique his interest on your first date so that he calls you for a second and a third and a … Here are some really easy guidelines to attract him, hold a fascinating conversation and make him want to know you better.

·         Be on time – Don’t be tardy. Men may show up late on subsequent dates, but they are usually on the dot on the first one. And it certainly doesn’t create a good impression when you are not.

·         Make an effort to look good – You may be dating at an informal venue, but dress up - informal doesn’t mean shabby. At least present a neat appearance and make sure your footwear, nails and hair are clean. Men appreciate dating an attractively dressed woman.

·         Tell him something new he did not already know – Fill him up on a little health or fitness trivia or some interesting news item you came across recently.  If you are smart, it will spark his interest as men typically like to be challenged.

·         Tell him about your interests – Don’t talk about hobbies that are terribly girlie like collecting lace doilies and so on. You could tell him about your passion for painting though.  He should be especially intrigued if you have healthy outdoor pursuits.

·         Order food like a man - Guys are bowled over when women order typically male items like steak or a drink of dark stout.

·         Don't moan - Things may go awry - your steak may not be cooked to perfection or it may begin to rain heavily when you leave the restaurant, but don’t complain. Men really appreciate it when you handle such situations with poise, patience and maturity.

While you should behave pleasantly, don’t forget to be yourself.  Finally, don’t get nervous – relax and enjoy the dating process.
